"Glacier Grip" sole: the heel area features a studded section that can be pulled out and flipped over as needed. Studs provide extra traction on slippery trails and retract back into the sole in an instant when they are no longer needed. Glacier Grip models also feature "Fiber Grip"—non-slip fiberglass elements in the sole area that enhance safety on winter trails.

How do the reversible studs work? It’s simple! Using the included tool, you can flip the studs around in a flash: just pull them out, turn them over, and you’re good to go. When the studs face downward, they provide extra grip on snow and ice. And when you no longer need them, they slide back into the sole with a quick turn.
